Art Night Venice 2025

San Polo Art Gallery is pleased to open its exhibition space

Starting at 9:15 PM, the evening will feature the performance Exchange of Materials, in which young Venetian artist Diana Montesani will engage the audience in a symbolic and participatory exchange. She will offer a series of previously unseen works, created especially for the event, in return for objects brought by visitors.

What value do we assign to things, to ourselves, and to art?

During the evening, each participant may bring an object of their choice and offer it to the artist in exchange, thereby attributing personal value to the artwork they receive in return. The artist, in turn, will also assess each object: different works will be produced according to various value scales.

Montesani’s artistic gesture is a visual and performative reflection inspired by a text by poet Sabrina Sarno, who resides in the United Kingdom and explores the concept of the value we assign to ourselves.

Art Night Venezia, organized by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with the City of Venice, is an annual event that transforms the historic city into an open-air celebration of art and culture. For one special night, museums, foundations, galleries, libraries, and other cultural institutions offer free entry and extended hours, creating a unique cultural experience for residents and visitors alike.

On this occasion, San Polo Art Gallery proudly joined the initiative, opening its doors to the public and inviting art lovers to explore its current exhibitions in a special nighttime atmosphere. Nestled in the heart of Venice, the gallery contributed to the evening’s success by offering a refined cultural moment in one of the city’s most iconic districts.

Art Night is a celebration of creativity, participation, and the shared love for contemporary and classical art — a night when Venice shines not only with its beauty, but with ideas and inspiration.
