The Age of Plastic

Fragments of the consumer society by Dario Tironi

He directs his artistic research towards particular themes and issues which characterise contemporary society, such as ecological problems and the consequences of human activity on the environment, global inequality, the contradictions of the consumerist-capitalist system and human alienation. In his artistic practice, he makes use of a multitude of heterogeneous materials, often drawn from everyday life: found objects and disposable items from the “age of plastic” — accessories, technological devices, toys and dolls, electronic appliances, furnishings, and all kinds of mass-produced gadgets — transforming them through processes of recycling and plastic art.
